Position: Fly half/fullback
First Club: Lymm RFC
Junior Rugby: As well as having a successful junior career at rival club Lymm, Dicko has represented Cheshire at under-15 and 16 level. Mark’s career developed at a rate of knots after his Cheshire success, and has since proudly represented England at under-18 level having been in the development squad for two years.
Senior Rugby: At the tender age of just 20, Mark has achieved so much since moving to university in Loughborough. He along with teammate Joe Doyle, have moved up the ranks representing all the BUCS teams in what is a highly competitive setup at Loughborough. Last season, Dicko was promoted to the Loughborough Students side who compete in National 1, making around 15 appearances for team.
First impressions of the club: Mark has settled in well to life at Caldy with everyone including players, coaches, and supporters making him feel very welcome. Along with the impressive integration of the colts to training, Mark also feels the coaching in the run up to the start of the season has seamlessly ramped up to a new level, especially on the technical side.
Aspirations for the season ahead: Dicko believes National 1 rugby is where a player can really test himself. By doing the jobs he knows he can do, his main aim is to help the team to achieve the highest possible National 1 finishing spot. He believes a top half spot is attainable for the club and is looking forward to making that happen. Personally, Dicko is looking to improve his all round run-kick-pass game focusing mainly on his kicking stats. Besides that, he is looking to improve his management of both the game and the team from the fly half position.
